As summer comes to a close we want to share some images from our paid summer internship for high school students. Our interest was to introduce the field of landscape architecture to students preparing for college to promote diversity amongst those who plan and design the built environment within their own communities.
Our educational internship included fieldtrips, visiting lecturers, office visits, and introductions to essential software and opportunities to design. The students measured and sketched objects in the field, gained experience solving design problems using sustainable strategies and programming for inclusivity, and learned about materiality and space.
It was a pleasure having our summer interns with us and we’re overjoyed they found the time spent with us to be informative and meaningful. We look forward to working with two youth again next summer.
